The handicap secretary reported that summer competitions were underway.

The first Saturday competition had been well attended in the morning but uptake in the afternoon was poor.

The first Sunday competition with no fixed tee time had a poor response however Mr McLean hoped that this would improve as the season progressed.

Concern was raised about the placement of white and yellow tee box markers and the need to ensure that they complied with the measured course.

The Welfare Manager will be approached by the golf secretary and requested to inform the ground staff that this issue needs rectifying.

The first league game is against Westerhope at home on the 16th April.

Any other Business

The captain requested that the golf section assist him in funding for league players.

The committee decided that it would be prudent to discuss this matter when the Treasurer and absent committee members were in attendance, therefore his request will be discussed at our next meeting.

Mr Meldrum reported several instances where members entering competitions had placed money in the competition box for their playing partners who had subsequently failed to play in the competition. This made it difficult to ascertain the total number of golfers playing. He requested that if money was place in the box for a player who failed to turn up then a note should be placed in the competition box explaining the reason for the discrepancy.
